Training is mandatory for each machine a member wants to use, regardless of previous experience. A sheet is issued with all machines listed; new members have to be signed off as competent on each individual machine.

The safety of our members is our top priority.
For this reason, we assess each membership application on a case-by-case basis, considering the specific needs and abilities of the individual, especially when it comes to operating machinery. Rest assured, we take every measure to ensure our members can engage in activities safely and enjoyably.
If you or a loved one with Parkinson's or dementia is interested in joining the shed, we encourage you to reach out to us to discuss your needs and explore suitable activities within our community.
“In 2018 my husband had a stroke and lost his ability to undertake his usual activities. During a rehab program an Occupational Therapist suggested that he might like to work again with one of his early lifestyle hobbies – woodwork. We chose the Falcon Menshed from a list provided.
Our first contact was with the shed's Chairman, who welcomed our call. We visited the Shed one bright morning and were surprised by the welcome we received from the President who introduced us to the men having their morning tea.
My husband happily settled in that day. Knowing it was a men’s shed I disappeared, returning later to find a very happy husband who thoroughly enjoyed the companionship and help he received over the following years.
As his health deteriorated, the Welfare Officer provided intensive assistance to complete his tasks in a safe environment. Our family treasures the boxes and boards he made at the Shed. It cannot be overemphasised how this experience enhanced our lives and I will be forever grateful.
After my husband died I have received follow-up calls. I am always interested to hear of the progress being made to improve and consolidate the Falcon Community Menshed’s place in the community. Sincere thanks to you all."
